Growing as a leader: Andrew’s HunterNet Future Leaders experience
Understanding others, recognising your own strengths and being willing to step outside your comfort zone are all part of growing as a leader. For TWW team member Andrew, these have been some of the most valuable lessons from his participation in this year’s HunterNet Future Leaders Program.
The program brings together emerging leaders from a range of industries for interactive workshops, networking and mentoring from experienced industry professionals. Participants also take on a major consulting project, working in teams to develop practical solutions to real business challenges.
For Andrew, the opportunity to work alongside people with different backgrounds and experiences has been a highlight.
“One of my biggest takeaways has been learning to recognise and understand different personalities, and how to adapt my approach to work more effectively with others,” Andrew said.
“Working alongside people from different industries and backgrounds has really reinforced the value of different perspectives and approaches.”
That experience has also encouraged Andrew to reflect on his own approach to leadership.
“The program has also helped me develop greater self-awareness, giving me a better understanding of my own strengths and how I can use them to become a more effective leader.”
Alongside the practical learning, Andrew’s reflections highlight the value of trying something new and being open to different ways of thinking.
“Overall, it’s been a rewarding experience that’s challenged me to think differently, step outside my comfort zone and develop skills I can carry forward throughout my career.”
At TWW, we’re proud to see Andrew investing in his development and taking on opportunities to grow. We look forward to seeing how he applies these insights as he continues his leadership journey.
