TW Woods proudly partnered with Skala Australia and Telford Engineering Services to deliver a state-of-the-art Construction & Demolition (C&D) waste recycling plant in Western Australia. This project showcased our end-to-end expertise, from fabrication to surface treatment, ensuring a high-performance, long-lasting facility.
Our Role: Precision Fabrication & Surface Treatment
As the lead fabricator, TW Woods was responsible for the complete structural and mechanical production of the plant, including:
- Precision Fabrication – Using CAD/CAM plasma cutting and pressed steel construction, we created a robust modular conveyor system, structural steelwork, and picking lines.
- Heavy-Duty Welding & Assembly – Our skilled team ensured all components met Australian Standards, increasing strength and longevity.
- Abrasive Blasting & Protective Coatings – We applied industrial-grade abrasive blasting to prepare surfaces for maximum adhesion, followed by specialist protective coatings for superior corrosion resistance and durability in tough operating conditions.
- Modular Construction for Fast Installation – Our modular design approach reduced site installation time and streamlined transport, ensuring all components were efficiently packed into standard shipping containers.
Collaboration & Advanced Technologies
TW Woods worked closely with Telford Engineering Services, who provided detailed engineering and drawings, ensuring precise integration of global recycling technologies such as:
General Kinematics (USA) – Vibratory Finger Screens & Density Separators
Spaleck (Germany) – Flip Flow Screen Elastica
Steinert (Germany) – Belt Magnet Separators
Key Features & Benefits
- High-Strength Modular Conveyor System – Designed for increased efficiency and reduced maintenance.
- Structural Steelwork Built to Australian Standards – Engineered for safety, strength, and reliability.
- Hardox 450 Wear Plate in Picking Line Walls and all Transfer Chutes– Extending the lifespan of the plant and minimising downtime.
- Comprehensive Safety Design – Full perimeter guarding, emergency stops, and easy-access platforms for maintenance.
With a 90-tonne-per-hour throughput, this world-class facility is built to outperform imported plants, setting a new benchmark for efficiency, durability, and Australian compliance.
From design to installation, TW Woods delivered a complete, high-performance solution ensuring the future of C&D recycling is stronger, safer, and more sustainable.
