TW Woods is proud to announce the successful fabrication and deployment of a lifting frame and rotor extension for the Seabourne Quest, a critical project delivered under tight time constraints.
With the vessel at sea, the project required completion within a strict two-week window to ensure delivery before the ship’s scheduled departure from the Port of Melbourne. The lifting frame was erected and successfully used at sea, playing a key role in the disassembly of the DG1 Generator.
This included:
– Retracting a 11-ton rotor
– Flipping over a 16-ton stator
Engineering Excellence & Precision Fabrication
TW Woods undertook the project with a focus on structural integrity, durability, and precision engineering.
The scope of work included:
✔ Meeting AS1554.1SP welding standards
✔ Surface protection with Intergard 251 & Interthane 990 coatings
✔ Heavy-duty fasteners and high-precision fabrication
This project is a great example of TW Woods’ capability in delivering high-quality, large-scale fabrication solutions under demanding conditions.
